Indonesia has entered the Industry 5.0 era, which is marked by the emergence of advanced technology such as artificial intelligence, robotics and the Internet of Things (IoT). This era is a great opportunity for Indonesia to increase its economic growth, reduce development gaps, and increase its competitiveness in the global market. One sector that has a strategic role in the Indonesian economy is Micro and Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), because this sector contributes around 60 percent of Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and creates jobs for around 97 percent of the total workforce in Indonesia. Apart from that, MSMEs also help balance income distribution and reduce the economic gap between urban and rural areas. Even though MSMEs are considered a responsive and flexible sector, in practice, MSMEs still face various challenges in facing the Industrial 5.0 era, such as limited technological infrastructure, limited knowledge and skills of the workforce in operating advanced technology, and there are still many MSMEs that have not utilized technology. digital. This research was conducted to identify inferentially what factors still hinder the competitiveness of MSMEs and to find out how prepared MSMEs in Banjarmasin City are to face the Industrial 5.0 era. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative coupled with inferential analysis to generalize the research results obtained. The data collection technique used was snowball sampling with the research subjects being MSMEs representing business sectors in Banjarmasin City.
