Abstract

     A decrease in the value of Mechanical Availability (MA) on heavy equipment units has a significant impact on productivity and operational efficiency, especially in the mining sector. This research aims to analyze the effect of damage to engine components, especially the turbocharger and exhaust valve, on the Mechanical Availability (MA) value of the Excavator 1200 unit operating at PT. XZ during the period July – October 2024. The research methods used include analysis of downtime data, actual MA values, as well as identification of damage based on Technical Analysis Report (TAR) data. The research results show that the average Mechanical Availability (MA) value for 4 months only reached 67.05%, far below the company's target of 91%. The highest downtime occurred due to exhaust valve damage, which resulted in a total cumulative downtime of 910.85 hours.
