PENYUSUAN DAFTAR KOSAKATA TEKNIS BAHASA INGGRIS DI BIDANG TEKNIK SIPIL BERBASIS KORPUS

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan konstruksi daftar kosakata teknis Bahasa Inggris di bidang Teknik Sipil yang dikembangkan dari korpus buku teks referensi di Program Studi Teknik Sipil di Jurusan Teknik Sipil, Politeknik Negeri Banjarmasin (Poliban). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pelajar bahasa Inggris Program Studi Teknik Sipil di Jurusan Teknik Sipil Poliban. Daftar kosakata berisi jenis kata yang dipilih yang diekstraksi dari buku teks referensi berbahasa Inggris yang digunakan di lima Kelompok Berdasarkan Keahlian (KBK)  yang ada di Program Studi Teknik Sipil di Jurusan Teknik Sipil Poliban yaitu KBK Geoteknik, Transportasi, Struktur, Keairan dan Manajemen. Analisis kuantitatif pemeringkatan frekuensi dan jangkauan dilakukan dan dibantu oleh perangkat lunak analisis korpus. Hasil penelitian berupa Daftar Kosakata Teknis Bidang Teknik Sipil  yang disusun berdasarkan korpus yang terdiri dari  29.264 jenis kata dan 1.112.898 token meliputi daftar kosakata yang berisi 360 jenis kata ini diharapkan bisa menjadi acuan untuk pengembangan bahan ajar untuk mahasiswa Prodi Teknik Sipil yang mempelajari Bahasa Inggris melalui English for Specific Purposes (ESP).
